Manual of Operations
Iberia Virtual Airlines
INTRODUCTION
Iberia Virtual
Airlines was founded by Raul Ramazzotti and began operations in october 1998. Since
then IBV expanded its operations to the Internet and World Wide Web.
IBERIA
VIRTUAL CULTURE
Iberia Virtual
is a community airline. Since the nature of our business is not business at all, our goal is to make the Virtual Airline experience fun for
everyone,
including other VA’s. To keep our goal
of participating in a community rather than a competitive environment, it is
policy for the Iberia V. staff to treat our pilots and everyone in the
community with respect.
BECOMING AN IBERIA VIRTUAL PILOT
The only requirements
for joining Iberia V. is that you have a valid internet e-mail address and use
a computer based flight simulator with real-world airports.
You may join Iberia V. by filling out a sign-up form on our home page. We do
ask that you complete at least one round trip flight per month. A pilot that
will not report a single flight during a month will be notified for this. If
he/she does not reply in one month period, he/she will be moved to Inactive
Pilots Roster. After a month period the Inactive Pilot will be erased from
Iberia Virtual Roster. The above does not apply to situations were the pilot
informs Operations Officer for his/hers absence. In all situations pilots will
be excused not to fly for the period that they require.
FLYING
ROUTES
Pilots may fly
as many or few routes as they wish but no more than eight per week (except
special operations), we don´t want expose our passengers to any risk.
Iberia V.
maintains a full time table on the web you can chek it any time you
want. Pilots can also choose their flights directly from the real
Iberia timetable
IBERIA VIRTUAL PILOT RANKING SYSTEM and A/C ACCREDITATIONS
At the current time, pilot
rank is nothing more than a title that changes with experience. Pilot rank may
be utilized for using more advance aircrafts and more exciting routes.

PILOT'S REPORTS (PI.REPS)
Upon
completion of a flight, the pilot should record their time (push back from the
gate to arrival at the gate) and note the aircraft type for the flight. The
PIREP form is available on the web page.
The form will be sent to the hub captain who will record and track the
pilot’s hours. Fuel consumption, number of passengers and other
related flight information may be reported at the pilot’s option.
IBERIA VIRTUAL FLEET
Iberia V. builds and maintains it’s own fleet of
aircraft. Only aircraft of the highest visual quality, and realistic flight
dynamics are accepted in the fleet. Iberia V.
pilots are welcome to contribute to the fleet, but all aircraft must be
evaluated for quality by the fleet staff.
